Cataract surgery has a long history spanning back thousands of years, with early techniques dating back to ancient Egypt and India. Over time, advancements in surgical techniques and technology, such as the introduction of lasers, have revolutionized cataract treatment and improved patient outcomes.

Laser cataract surgery, also known as femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery, utilizes a laser to assist with the incisions and fragmentation of the cataract-affected lens, increasing precision and potentially reducing complications.
