1. Thurgood Marshall: Marshall was the first African American to serve on the United States Supreme Court, where he served from 1967 to 1991. Before his appointment to the Supreme Court, Marshall was a prominent civil rights attorney who successfully argued several landmark segregation cases, including Brown v. Board of Education.
2. Constance Baker Motley: Motley was the first African American woman to serve as a federal judge, appointed to the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York in 1966. Prior to her judicial career, Motley was a key legal strategist for the NAACP Legal Defense Fund and argued numerous civil rights cases.
3. A.
