1. Hattie McDaniel: Known for her role as Mammy in "Gone with the Wind," Hattie McDaniel became the first African American to win an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1940.

2. Dorothy Dandridge: Dorothy Dandridge was the first African American woman to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in the film "Carmen Jones" in 1954.

3. Whoopi Goldberg: Whoopi Goldberg is one of the few Black actresses to have achieved EGOT status, meaning she has won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award. She won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in "Ghost" in 1991.
